White Fur Wreath Tutorial

Hello Crafters! It’s Erin again, back from The Blue Eyed Dove. Are you ready for Christmas yet!? I may or may not have been listening to Christmas music since November 1st, so I guess you could say I’m ready 😉  This year I had an extra excuse {not that I really needed one though!} to get my Christmas decorations out early because I moved into a new place, and had to decide which new decorations I wanted to buy before everything was completely picked over in stores. I am happy to report that I finished with my holiday decorating and love all of my new stuff {stay tuned for my full Christmas Home Tour next week.}!

This year I’m semi-obsessed with white fur, so naturally I decided to go with a white fur, metallic color scheme. Did you know you can buy white fur by the yard? I would highly recommend doing this if you’d like to decorate with fur this year. I bought two yards and made table runners, chargers and even had enough fur left over to make a wreath that I thought I’d share with you today.

White Fur Fabric (about a yard depending on the size of your wreath)

White Styrofoam Wreath (Mine was 14″)

Hot Glue Gun

White Fur Wreath How-To

  1. Trace the inside circle of the wreath cut-out onto the backside of the fur fabric and cut out circle.
  2. Place the wreath cut-out back onto the fabric and use hot glue to attach the wreath to the fur fabric. (This side will be the back of the wreath.)
  3. Start folding the fur fabric in to cover the front side of the wreath and the inside edge. Use hot glue to attach it. Make cut lines as you work your way around the wreath so it covers easier and  you don’t have extra fabric.
  4. Once you have covered the styrofoam completely fluff the fur around the wreath to blend each of the attached sections.
  5. Lastly, attach a bow, snowflake or broach if you’d like to dress your wreath up a bit.

That’s it!

Such a fun spin on a Christmas wreath, don’t you think!? And a great way to use some of your leftover white fur fabric 😉

Are you adding any fur touches to your Christmas décor this year?
