Three Ways to Prep for Guests Over the Holidays

With the holidays coming up, a lot of us have plans to host family or friends for some period of time. For me, that’s always so, so exciting for me but it also releases a bit of panic when I start thinking of things I have to do to prep the house. I’m a big advocate that hospitality isn’t about perfection, but there are certainly a few things you can do to make your home ready for guests and to keep you, the host, less stressed!

As I said, hospitality and opening your home for the holidays is not about perfection. But a few little things can help to lift some stress of your shoulders and have your home feeling prepared before your guests arrived.

Bathroom Essentials Basket

Traveling is already stressful and having to worry about packing bathroom toiletries too! Send your guests a quick text or email and let them know that you have it covered. It’ll make their packing that much less stressful. The best part is that when you get toiletries, you’ll have them for future guests too! You can also add in a hair dryer in your bathroom.

Leave Towels Out

I’ve been a guest in houses and had to search high and low for towels before. Being in a foreign home and not knowing where the essentials, like towels, are can be not so fun. Take the extra step and leave towels out for your guests so they’ll feel right at home!

Wifi Password

Ever been at a new house and wondered how long you needed to be there for it to be appropriate to ask for the wifi password? Don’t make your guests guess! Add a cute frame with the wifi password in their bedroom so they’ll have it right away!

Doing little touches like these can make your guests feel right at home!

What are some ways you prep your home for the holidays?

  1. I love the wifi idea! I hate feeling awkward because I don’t know if it’s appropriate to ask for the password.
