Upcycled Thrift Store Tray

Hey My Crafty Spot Friends!

It’s Ashley from 3 Little Greenwoods. I’m back to share a super simple Upcycled Thrift Store Tray with you today!

Just like every other DIY lover out there I love thrift store shopping! A couple of weeks ago I stumbled across this heavy metal and glass tray. It was a perfect size for loading up with summertime drinks and appetizers.  Unfortunately the gun metal gray and seashells weren’t working for me.

But for less than $6 I wasn’t leaving this ocean inspired beauty on the shelf.

Thank goodness for the power of spray paint and a $2 plastic placemat! Those two things are all the supplies I needed to transform this beauty.

First the entire tray got covered with a bright yellow spray paint. A paper template was made of the inside circle of the tray. The template was then used on the placemat to create a perfect cover for the shell print.

I love the vibrancy of the colors on the placemat and the fact that it can be changed to go with any decor.

I am so happy I didn’t leave this plain metal tray on the shelf. It’s new bright cover makes it fabulous for lots of fun tablescapes. The Upcycled Thrift Store Tray is going to see lots of action as we host lots of summer parties!

Thanks so much for allowing me to sharing this DIY project with you! I would love for you to come hang out with me over at my blog! You can find me over at my blog 3 Little Greenwoods or connect with me on social media.
