Succulent Moss Spring Wreath

DIY Succulent Moss Spring Wreath - Shared on My Crafty Spot from The Blue Eyed Dove

Hi Crafters! It’s Erin again back from The Blue Eyed Dove. Spring is well on it’s way and I’m super excited about it! I don’t do a ton of decorating around my home for the season, but I do love a good moss wreath on my front door. This year I’ve been really into succulents and decided they would be the perfect addition to my spring wreath.

Supplies:

Styrofoam Wreath

Preserved Moss Sheets

A Variety of Succulents

Hot Glue Gun

Scissors

Directions:

I made a spring wreath  a few years ago that I loved, but it had faded and was ready for an update. I was able to salvage the wreath portion and simply covered it up with new sections of moss. Here’s how I put the new wreath together:

  1. Cut thin strips of moss to wrap around and cover the entire styrofoam wreath. {I used a mixture of thick and thin strips.}
  2. Next, cut smaller pieces of moss to fill in the gaps of the styrofoam wreath that you were not able to cover with the initial strips. Hot glue onto the wreath.
  3. Fluff the moss around the wreath to cover any exposed strip lines.
  4. Now onto the fun part…adding the succulents! Trim the stems of the succulents to your desired height and stick into the wreath. {Some stems slid in easier than others, so use scissors to create a small hole to insert the stem if needed.}
  5. Add hot glue to the succulents where necessary to make sure they are attached the wreath. Because I’m such a moss fanatic I only added a small cluster of succulents, but do what works best for you!

That’s it!

Just the right amount of succulents and moss, don’t you think!?

Happy spring prepping!
