Petal Power Garden Sign

Petal Power Garden Sign for Junk Tricycle www.mycraftyspot.com

I love whimsy in the garden, and when a friend offered me this little rusty tricycle, I knew she would look perfect in my herb garden.  Hi, I’m Karen Creel, and if you follow my blog, www.Gardenchick.com, you know I love gardening and junking.  But, this little tricycle needed something to jazz it up a bit,  so I went hunting through my finds for wood to make a sign.  A petal power garden sign was what it needed.

I found this old drawer front with the handle still intact.  I think it came from an old cabinet I had that finally fell apart.

Using markers, I drew a couple of flowers, and the words “Petal Power!” on the sign.

Next, the flowers were filled in.

a few dots were made with the wooden end of the brush, and I painted the words using craft paint.

They didn’t seem to stand out quite enough, so I used a marker to highlight a few areas on the flowers and words.

I think my little sign is perfect for the tricycle.  How about you?
