Marbled Halloween Treat Bags

Marbled Halloween Treat Bags // Twin Stripe for My Crafty Spot
Can you believe Halloween is a little over a week away? It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating the re-release of the pumpkin spice latte and the return of the blanket scarf and now it’s the end of October! If you are planning a Halloween party and are looking for a fun and easy DIY treat bag, try your hand at marbling with nail polish.

Supplies:

  • Small treat bags or boxes (check Target’s Dollar Spot!)
  • Halloween nail polish in colors like orange, black and white
  • Shallow disposable tray (I used a paint liner)
  • Tooth picks
  • Nail polish remove to clean up messes

When setting up your work area, be sure to cover your work area with a trash bag because this project can get a bit messy. Place your tray in the center and fill with room temperature water. Open your nail polish and set the brushes aside.

Now, it’s time to start marbling. Pour your nail polish into the tray, starting with the lightest color. When all colors have been poured, use your tooth pick to swirl the nail polish to create a mix you like. Work quickly when pouring the nail polish and swirling, because it can dry very quickly.

Once you are happy with the design, carefully dip your bag or box into the water. When it has been submerged, pull the bag straight out of the water. Place to the side to allow your treat bag to dry completely. Before you dip your next bag, you want to make sure to remove all of  the nail polish in the tray or change the water.

If you find your nail polish is clumping, I read that you can add a few drops of remover to the bottle before pouring it in the water.

I love how my Halloween treat bags turned out. I’m looking forward to bringing them to the office next week to share with our student workers.

As usual, be sure to stop by Twin Stripe for even more fall and Halloween DIY and craft projects!
