DIY Trinket Dish

Hi Everyone! It’s Erin again, back from The Blue Eyed Dove. This week I have a super easy craft to share with you. Something you could make for yourself,  a quick Valentine’s Day gift…or in my case gifts for my sister’s bridesmaids.

DIY Trinket Dish

My sister got engaged over Christmas {you can read more about that here}, and she wanted to do something creative to ask each of her bridesmaids to be in her wedding. She found lots of cute trinket dishes, but they cost a little more than she wanted to spend. So, it was on to Plan B…the DIY route!

Supplies:

  • Porcelain Dish
  • Oil Based Marker  – I used an Extra Fine Point Sharpie
  • Stencil {optional}

DIY Trinket Dish How-To

Directions:

1.  Add your design onto the porcelain dish. {Optional: Use a stencil to trace your design. There are several cute, and inexpensive stencils to choose from here.}

2.  Then add 4 hearts in each corner. No stencil needed for this. As long as you have a good marker you can make nice little hearts!

{Note: If you mess up (which I did more than a few times!) use a wet paper towel to remove the marker right away – it comes off very easy when it is still wet.}

3. Let the trinket dish dry for about 20 minutes.

4. Place the trinket dish(es) on a cookie sheet, and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

That’s it!

Trinket Dish Alone

Very easy, and very cost effective. Especially if you need to make 8 trinket dishes for bridesmaids’ gifts 🙂
