DIY Paper Heart Picture Frame Tutorial

Hi everyone! I’m back today sharing a super easy Valentine’s Day craft.

This project requires:

  • A heart paper puncher
  • An old book
  • Scrap book paper
  • Glue stick
  • Picture frame

The first step is to punch out a bunch of hearts from your book pages.

I measured my hearts out across the frame,
but once I folded them I discovered I could fit more.

For an 8×10 frame you will need about 70 hearts.

Once you have all your hearts, insert your scrap book paper
in your frame (on top of the glass).

Fold your hearts in half and add a little glue to the spine of each heart.

Then gently place the heart in your frame, attaching to the scrap book paper.
I started on the first row down and then worked my way across.

After the frame was filled I punched out a few solid pink hearts from scrap paper.
I placed them on top of the book hearts to see which ones I would need to remove in order
to make a large heart pattern in the middle of the frame.
Once I liked my pink heart placement,

I gently removed the book page hearts and replaced them with new pink ones.

When I finished my project, I took a step back and really looked at it.
To me, the original white frame I started this project with seemed to wash out the book page hearts.
So I decided to switch the white frame for a black one I already had in my home.
I think it looks better now because the dark frame allows the heart to really POP!

I placed this lovely heart right next to our espresso maker because…well, I {heart} my coffee! 🙂

So have you started decorating for Valentine’s Day yet?

Do you know how much I LOVE connecting with you?!
