DIY Exfoliant Salt Scrub for Mother’s Day

I wanted to make something special for my mom. I knew that she loved to relax and giving her some homemade moisturizing exfoliant bath salts would be right up her alley. This gift is so fabulous, I had to make one for myself. This can also be made for birthday gifts, hostess gifts or any gift giving occasions.

The base for your exfoliant can be salt or sugar depending on the size of grain you are looking for.

You can also choose any color you want. I went with yellow to feel like spring.

These are fairly simple to make.

Tools and Materials:

  • 2 cups Epsom salts or organic cane sugar
  • 1 cup carrier oil
  • 8 drops essential oil(s)
  • drops food coloring (to your desired color)
  • Jar or glass holder

In a bowl, mix all ingredients except for food coloring. Once all combined, add your food coloring until you get your desired color. I only did 2 – 3 drops to get this color yellow. I also used epsom salt. I got this jar at Hobby Lobby.
