Colorful Geometric Pegboard

Colorful Geometric Pegboard // Twin Stripe for My Crafty Spot

Hi everyone! I’m excited to be sharing my first post on My Crafty Spot. I’m Katie of Twin Stripe lifestyle and DIY blog. Be sure to stop by and say hello. Twin Stripe is filled with craft ideas, recipes, entertaining pieces and more.

It’s back to school time again, which means it’s time to get organized. I don’t have little ones to get organized to go back to school, but I know I could always be more organized. I dressed up a basic pegboard so I could keep items I use all of the time close at hand.

  • Pegboard (you can purchase at local hardware store in 2’x4′ sheets and have it cut to size)
  • Painters tape
  • Assorted colors of acrylic paint
  • Foam brush
  • Assorted hooks
  • Clear spray sealer

Use painters tape to map out a geometric design. (Triangles and rectangles work out well for this project.) When the design is complete, paint each area of the pegboard with acrylic paint. The paint will dry quickly, but will need many coats of paint to completely cover the brown of the pegboard.

When the design has been painted and is mostly dry, remove the tape and touch up areas that were forgotten. When the paint is completely dry, add a coat of clear spray sealer. Follow up with hooks, baskets and your most needed supplies.

I hope you have enjoyed getting organized by dressing up an everyday pegboard. This simple project does not require too many supplies, but ends up being useful for everyone.
