Felt Gingerbread Cookie Tutorial

It may not be too close to Christmas yet, but it doesn’t mean we can’t start thinking about projects that will be super fun to work on when the time comes. Besides, Christmas comes in a blink of an eye, its is always here before we know it.

Here is a fun tutorial to do with the kids.

  • 9×12 sheet of felt (hot chocolate)
  • Matching embroidery floss
  • 3D Fabric Paint in Red and White

**Optional**
Ikea 7-piece Baking Set (Duktig)

Using a water soluble marker, start by tracing the gingerbread man cookie cutter (or use this gingerbread man pattern). You will need two pieces for each finished cookie.

These fun chalkboard tile place card holders are perfect for a fun get-together and they could not be more simple to make. I was inspired to make these when I saw Pottery Barn’s slate tile place card holders in their catalog.

Honestly people,  I wish I could buy one of everything in Pottery Barn (maybe even two of some things!). But until the big money starts rolling in, I will have to find a creative way to get a similar look for cheaper. For around $20 bucks you can buy their 14 tiles and two wooden stands or….you can do like I did and make your own for about $4.

Magnetic Felt Fishing Game – Pattern & Tutorial

Magnetic Felt Fishing Game Pattern & Tutorial
{This pattern is for personal use only.}

You will need:

  • Felt (4 different colors, about 8×10)
  • 8 Buttons
  • 8 Wiggly Eyes**
  • 8 Washers
  • 2 Extra Strong Magnets
  • A 12” Wooden Dowel
  • 3’ of ¼” Ribbon
  • Felt Scraps
  • Glue Gun

**Make sure the wiggly eyes fit inside the buttons you’ve selected. There are various different sizes, so it should be fairly easy to find some that work.

Cut out your pieces (layer two pieces of felt for the body to save time) and assemble.

Pin the fin to the fish body (one on each side), carefully making them symmetrical (if you are OCD like me.)

DIY Paper Pom Pom Decorations

My best friend and I recently threw a baby shower for one of our besties. Our girlfriend is having a boy so my best friend made these adorable hanging pom poms in blue and white over the table where we served the food. They are so cute and would be perfect for any type party you might throw. Here is step by step instructions for the Queen herself, Martha Stewart. They are so easy and really help bring the festive look for your room decorations. It also doesn’t take too much time and they really look great!

Stack eight 20-by-30-inch sheets of tissue. Make 1 1/2-inch-wide accordion folds, creasing with each fold
