30-Minute Dipped Gold Brush Holder

Gold-Dipped Makeup Brush Holder

I know you’ve seen the dipped-gold projects popping up everywhere. Why? Because they’re gorgeous, that’s why! So I decided to try my hand at this initially intimidating task. I gotta say, it was waaaay easier than I expected. I know I say that all the time, but seriously, it’s soooooo easy!

Here’s what you’ll need:

A shallow glass bowl with a large mouth
Metallic spray paint
Marble accents

Tape off your glass bowl with painters tape. I used an asymmetric line for fun. I wish I had taken a little more time taping because the line was a teensy bit wobbly, but you’d have to look pretty hard to notice. Once you’ve taped off your line cover the rest of the glass that you don’t want paint on with plastic wrap or a plastic bag.

Next, spray your glass. I used the Krylon brand paint which only requires 5 minutes between coats. I did two coats, but I would recommend 3-4 for a really nice opaque finish.

Allow to dry and fill with your accent marbles and voila! A beautiful statement piece for your at-home glam center.
